Starting Over…

Well, it’s been a number of years since I’ve been able to have an active beehive because of where I live. I cleaned out and set up the only hive body I have left in hopes of catching a swarm in the wild. A few years back I was preparing to give my last 8 frame setup to a dear friend and set it out under my deck. When I returned only a few days later there was a full colony settled in and going to town. I packaged them up and moved them over to her house without a problem and several years later they are still going strong. The only problem is now I don’t have any.

I’ve recently cleared some of the woods at the house and I think I now have an acceptable area that can support them now. So I set up the only hive I have left. It’s a 10 frame medium body with no foundation just empty frames. So, it promises to be a disaster of epic proportions. I have it set up on my picnic table under the deck for now, and now that the pollen is in, perhaps there will be some interest.

I will keep you posted.
